When She Was Bad- Sneak Peek #2

Too much time in the desert with its with its gouged-out beauty
A girl can get thirsty
A shimmering tonic is a diamond drop on a washed out horizon
Parched lips will drink from that tall glass of water
Hot cold, hot cold

Greetings from "The Painted Desert" is a painting from my new exhibit When She Was Bad. This is a detail shot, a snippet of the painting - a sneak peek. A few of the works in the exhibit will be accompanied by  poetry or rhymes that I wrote to further develop the visuals when planning the work. I find it a great way to coax the Muse when I'm struggling.
When She Was Bad can be viewed at the Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design Gallery June 13th through to July 22nd. Once the show opens, I will post the photos of all the works in their entirety.
Stay tuned...more sneak peeks to come, as the countdown continues. While you're waiting...drop by the Centre's Gallery and take in the latest exhibit: Flotsam and Jetsam - an exhibit of basketry, photography, handmade books and other works inspired by the sea- by artists Shari MacLeod, Katherine Scott and Jayme Burns. Well worth the time!
